Why choose us for such a life-changing procedure in Tampa? Our office was founded by two board-certified medical doctors specializing in helping patients look and feel their best. Get to know Dr. Arviv and Dr. Abdullah below.
Dr. Tali Arviv
Dr. Arviv, our founder, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has completed additional training in aesthetics as well as hormone replacement. You can speak to Dr. Arviv about her specialties in injectable dermal fillers as well as skin resurfacing treatments. She has a passion for helping patients learn about their skin and make the changes necessary to ensure that it is the healthiest it can be.
Dr. Ahmed Abdullah
Dr. Abdullah is a highly credentialed plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He has extensive experience in optimizing the health of patients’ skin as well as educating patients (and his students, as he is a professor of plastic surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine) about the human body and the procedures available to shape and improve its function and appearance.
It is of utmost importance to us to only hire team members who are passionate about what they do. We work with licensed nurses, nurse practitioners and certified registered nurse anesthetists who make it their mission to care for patients, answer their questions, and assist in planning and carrying out procedures.
First, you may speak with our team members about a specific procedure before you come in. Then, they will help you schedule your first appointment, and they will help educate you about the procedure you’ve chosen and how to care for yourself after you undergo the procedure. Our team members work on many levels and help us make Arviv Plastic Surgery a premier office in Tampa, Florida, for undergoing the most common types of plastic surgery.
We offer a number of procedures for the face and the body. Read through our most common appointment types below and get in touch with questions.
- Facial cosmetic surgery
- Breast augmentation and reconstruction
- Keloid removal
- Gender reassignment surgery
Before you consider booking a plastic surgery procedure, it’s important to ask yourself a few questions. Consider the personal inquiries below and become better acquainted with your thoughts and feelings about your upcoming procedure, and then get in touch with us to ask further questions and book your appointment.
1. Are You Finished Growing?
This question may sound silly, but both men and women often continue to grow and develop well into college. If you’re 16 years old and you’re considering breast augmentation, you may want to wait a few years to see if you’re truly “done” developing before you decide to make a change. Most plastic surgeons won’t book you for an appointment if you are still growing, and they will likely tell you to wait until you’ve been a consistent size for about a year before thinking about an elective procedure.
2. Do You Know Why You Want Surgery?
If you’re getting ready for gender reassignment surgery or you’ve always wanted to decrease your breast size because of the physical pain you experience due to this extra tissue, your reasons are likely obvious to yourself and well-explained to your doctor.
On the other hand, if you aren’t completely sure what you want to “fix” about yourself, are generally unhappy with your appearance, or are attempting to correct low self-esteem with plastic surgery, you will likely be disappointed with the results. This doesn’t mean that plastic surgery can’t be in your future! However, it does mean that you need to understand your reasoning before signing up for an irreversible procedure.
3. Do You Understand What Is Required of You?
This is where we come in to help. Depending on the type of cosmetic procedure you’ve selected, you will need to understand what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. For large-scale surgeries such as male-to-female gender reassignment surgery, the to-do list may be longer and more comprehensive than a keloid removal.
You may need to stop taking certain medications before surgery to prevent blood clotting, and you may wish to see a counselor before the surgery, regardless of what type it is, to prepare yourself for how your new look may change your life (even if it’s for the better).
Whether you’d like to discuss breast augmentation or reconstruction, scar removal, gender affirmation surgery, or facial cosmetic surgery, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send a message. We know that investigating plastic surgery is a big decision, and we’re happy to speak with you and answer any questions you have. Get in touch today to receive high-quality care and the respect you deserve.
