Permanent Makeup

Micropigmentation, also called permanent makeup, is a cosmetic procedure done by applying natural pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. Demographics is most commonly done for eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. It is also used to camouflage scars and create areolas for breast reconstructive patients. It offers a choice and freedom to those who are allergic to makeup.

Other reasons for permanent makeup include:

  • A time saver
  • Alopecia (deficiency of hair)
  • Cleft lip
  • Add fullness & asymmetry to lips
  • Losing your sight and can't see to apply straight
  • Eliminates lipstick "bleed" lines
  • People who take part in vigorous sports
  • People who have over tweezed their brows and no longer have brows
  • If you have sparse and/or light brows
  • Watery eyes
  • Allergies

Procedure can take from 1-4 hours depending on area being tattooed. The color is more prominent after the procedure and lightens within two weeks. One to two touch-ups may be needed, and should be six weeks apart. Permanent makeup can last from 4-10 years.
