Radiesse
Price Range: $700

Radiesse is a new, longer-lasting filler that is helping people achieve softer lines and a more youthful appearance. Radiesse is typically used to: smooth and contour smile lines or nasolabial folds, wrinkles at the corner of the mouth, vertical lip lines, acne scars, frown lines, restoring volume around the cheeks, providing definition and enhancement or correcting asymmetrical features.

What is Radiesse?
Radiesse, formerly known as Radience, is the first calcium hydroxylapatite injectable implant used for soft tissue augmentation. Over the last seven years, Radiesse has proven to be a safe and effective alternative for those patients wishing to avoid the potential side effects of bovine and solid implant materials.

Radiesse is a synthetic form of a mineral (calcium hydroxylapatite) found in our own bones and teeth. The body does not perceive it as "foreign" and there is no reaction. Due to the safe and compatible materials used in Radiesse no pre-testing of any kind is required.

By supplementing your skins own depleted collagen with Radiesse, we can smooth out wrinkles and most scars. We can also improve the appearance of deeper frown lines and nasal furrows. Radiesse is an effective, non-surgical wrinkle treatment that provides immediate results.

What area respond best to Radiesse treatments?

  • Nasolabial folds: creases from nose to lips
  • Wrinkles around the mouth
  • Lip enhancement
  • Depressed scars-from trauma or acne
  • Wrinkles at corners of the mouth
  • Marionette lines-wrinkles/creases extending from corners of mouth towards the chin
  • Deep creases in chin

What are Radiesse treatments like?
Radiesse treatments are performed in our office and take about 30 minutes. First we apply a local anesthetic. The Radiesse is then injected into the wrinkle, through a tiny needle, and placed just under your skin. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse is not absorbed by your system, therefore, we do not need to overfill the wrinkle. Your results are immediate and long lasting.

How many Radiesse treatments will I need?
This will vary depending upon the patient , the area treated and the desired result. Results with Radiesse are immediate, so you can determine at first glance if you are happy with the results, or if you would like more Radiesse injected. Results usually last 1 to 2 years.

Some of the benefits of Radiesse are:

  • Results are immediate.
  • It is soft and remains pliable for years.
  • It is cost effective because it is long lasting.
  • There is no need to harvest tissue for another site on your body (fat injections).
  • Radiesse can be used alone or in conjunction with other facial rejuvation procedures such as laser chemical peels, facial surgery or Botox.

What can I expect after my treatment with Radiesse?
Patients are up and around immediately after the treatment. Any discomfort following the procedure can be controlled with medication. The treatment site may have some swelling, which can last 24-36 hours depending on the area treated. There may be some slight bruising at the injection site.

How long will the results last?
Depending upon the area treated, most of your correction last for several months or years. Some touchup treatments may be necessary.

What our patients like the most about Radiesse is that they don't have to come back every three months and they still look great.

Radiesse is FDA approved for soft tissue marking in any anatomical location, vocal cord injection and oral/maxillofacial augmentation. FDA approval for facial implant is pending. Internationally, Radiesse has has received approved for facial implant and treatment of stress urinary incontinence.
