Because Dr. Abdullah believes the best skincare routines are those that are simple, the Lexli regimen includes just four steps – cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize and protect.


Step 1: Cleanse
The first step of the Lexli skincare regimen can be done with any mild soap or cleanser, but for optimal results, one of Lexli’s aloe-based cleansers is recommended, due to their superior, yet gentle, cleansing ability. Enough product should be used to eliminate grime, sebum, dead cells, makeup and other particulate matter that may build-up on your skin after a day of environmental exposure.


Lexli’s Cleansing Lotion is formulated to unclog poresand remove impurities. Its select ingredients work to cleanse skin and leave it fe eling soft, smooth and refreshed. An improvement in the suppleness of skin will be noticeable after the very first use.

        
Lexli’s Acne Cleanser controls bacteria and removes excess oil and impurities from the skin and hair follicles. This is essential, as bacteria and excess oil are two of the four main causes of acne.


        
 


Step 2: Exfoliate
The most important step in the Lexli skincare regimen, exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells and debris (keratin) from the skin’s surface that otherwise covers the new, living, vibrant skin cells beneath. When keratin is allowed to build-up it can clog pores. The removal of this layer promotes new collagen production, resulting in more luminous skin.

Lexli’s flagship product is a highly effective, patented exfoliant that is gentle enough for daily use. The product’s effective pH of 2.1 to 2.3 — similar to that of a chemical peel — is possible in an over-the-counter product because of the brand’s use of pharmaceutical-grade aloe vera, which counteracts the potential for inflammation from the glycolic acid.
 
        




Step 3: Moisturize
The cells of the body require water to remain healthy. However, through dehydration and evaporation, a process called “transepidermal water loss,” our skin constantly loses moisture. A popular myth is that skin can absorb water and, thus, topical products that include it as a base ingredient can increase skin hydration. The truth? If skin absorbed water, you wouldn’t be able to swim. The only way to maintain skin moisture content is by preventing the evaporation of internal water. Step 4: Protect
Environmental factors, such as pollution, smoking and the sun, are major contributors to skin damage. The major culprit is ultraviolet light from sun exposure – regardless of the season. Therefore, it’s necessary to protect the skin when outdoors by wearing protective clothing and utilizing a sunscreen or sunblock with a minimum SPF of 15.
