Nose Surgery - Rhinoplasty
Face-Lift
Rhinoplasty is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed today and is used to correct everything from a hump on the bridge of the nose and a bulbous tip to the overall width of the nose or the nostrils, themselves. The general goal of rhinoplasty is to bring the nose into harmony with the face to enhance overall appearance.

During the procedure, incisions are made inside the nose. If external incisions are necessary, they are small and inconspicuous. The skin of the nose is separated from the underlying bone and cartilage and the cartilage is reshaped. The skin is then redraped.

Rhinoplasty can be done under local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia in an outpatient facility. Following the procedure, the patient may have a nose splint for several days to reduce swelling and offer support. Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes may be apparent for two to four weeks. While most swelling subsides by six weeks, some long-term swelling may take up to a year to resolve.
