Dr. Kay Abdullah
is a general surgeon with a recognized specialization in breast surgery including breast cancer and oncoplastic breast surgery, breast reduction, and lifts. During her nearly 25 years as a surgeon, Dr. Abdullah has performed more than 5,000 procedures and has accumulated nearly 12,000 hours in surgery. While she is noted for her surgical skill, her patients often remark on her aptitude for unparalleled patient care.
Dr. Abdullah serves patients in the United States and Middle East with practices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Fargo, North Dakota – her hometown; and now, Karachi, Pakistan. Additionally, she works to train the next generation of surgeons as a professor of surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine.
An aloe researcher who has specifically been involved in laboratory studies to evaluate the effects of aloe vera on burns and diabetic wound healing, Dr. Abdullah’s extensive work on the topic has been published in numerous medical journals and has paved the way for advances in diabetic care.
Dr. Abdullah is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, she is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Association of Women’s Surgeons, the American Medical Women’s Asociation, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, and the American Society of General Surgeons.
Dr. Abdullah is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, with subsequent further special training in breast cancer surgery.
